Dr Dorcas Peta
Founder and Director, Peta Healthcare
Since 1993, Dr Peta has amassed extensive experience and comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the regulatory affairs environment. A successful entrepreneur with a well-defined strategic vision, she is responsible for providing a comprehensive assortment of compliance and regulatory services to the pharmaceutical industry. A member of Quad Pharma cc, Dr Peta provides training to pharmacists and assistants in regulatory affairs.
As Regulatory Affairs Associate Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at MSD (Pty) Ltd, a multinational pharmaceutical company in Midrand, Dr Peta was responsible for overseeing and planning new product registrations (NCEs), line extensions, variations, renewals, PI/PIL amendments and safety updates and management of the RA team consisting of eight RA pharmacists and three RA assistants.
She was the former chairperson of the Southern African Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs Association (SAPRAA) where she held the role for four years. An expert in her field, Dr Peta represented her previous company at industry associations, Africa Regulatory Network (ARN) and Innovative Medicine of South Africa (IMSA), where she contributed to shaping the regulatory environment.
